Jannes Slomp
Professor of World Class Performance (WCP)
Do you work in the SME, education or healthcare sector and do you want to provide your clients with quicker response times and minimize the chance of mistakes? Would you like to work with more sustainable production methods or introduce innovative products and services? Jannes Slomp is professor of World Class Performance at the Research Centre for Lean/World Class Performance (WCP). He connects professional practice, research and education and strives for a balance between technical and social systems in organisations.
Jannes Slomp conducts practice-based research together with Vincent Wiegel, lecturer-researchers and others from the professional field. The aim of this research is to create knowledge that can be applied directly to businesses and organisations in the field of Lean and Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM). The research centre incorporates this knowledge into its courses to train students as professionals with a thorough understanding of processes. This approach has been translated into the HAN Research Centre for Lean/QRM, a platform for interaction between contract research and field work.
Improvement of production systems
Slomp applies lean and ‘world class performance’ methods in his research projects to support companies and service organisations in organising, managing and continually improving their production systems. This enables them to improve their competitiveness: clients come to admire them, their competitors envy them and employees are proud to work for them.
Projects in the professional field
Slomp conducts research projects together with lecturer-researchers, students and others in the professional field. He strives to connect organisations, research and education. One example of this is the ‘Strategic product innovation for SMEs’ project, launched in 2013 as part of the RAAK initiative (Regional Attention and Action for Knowledge circulation).
