Marian Adriaansen
Professor of Long Term Care/Innovation in Care
Get to know Marian Adriaansen, professor of Long Term Care/Innovation in Care. Marian gained her PhD on the topic of training for palliative care nurse and focuses on quality of life.
It is important for vulnerable, chronically sick patients in care institutions (particularly small-scale institutions) to find an approximation of their normal lives. Yet at the same time they require highly specialised expert care. Quality of life is another important parameter alongside quality of care, with autonomy, self-management and involvement all playing major roles.
