The School of Applied Biosciences and Chemistry offers biomedical and chemical laboratory research for students, industry and government. We have a unique specialization in Molecular Plant Biology, Master in Molecular Life Sciences and HAN BioCentre. This is where our education, research and practice merge.
Education
Home base for bachelor and master programs
The School of Applied Biosciences and Chemistry is home to a number of bachelor and master degree programs. Students follow the full-time or part-time variant, and can choose between Dutch or English-taught programs.

Home base for practice-based research
We work together with the degree programs to tackle social issues. We conduct practice-based research through a number of research centers and a center of expertise:
- Research Center for Biodiscovery
- Research Center for Drug Discovery
- Center of Expertise for Biotechnology & Analysis (HAN BioCentre)
Collaborating with the school
The School of Applied Biosciences and Chemistry has various possibilities for collaboration. We rent out lab equipment, for example.
