Rob’s Story: Engineering Meets Sustainability
What happens when you combine a technical background with a passion for sustainability? Rob, who completed a bachelor’s in Automotive Engineering, found his answer in the Master’s in Circular Economy at HAN. He joined the program to build on his engineering knowledge and learn how to apply sustainable business practices, understand new EU policies, and become a true change agent in the field.

Throughout the program, we work on real projects that help companies become more sustainable - that hands-on experience is incredibly valuable.
From Engineering to Sustainable Impact
After finishing my bachelor’s in Automotive Engineering, I knew that combining engineering with sustainability would be the perfect match for me.
The Master’s program offers a broad range of new skills, teaching us everything from sustainable business practices to new EU policies and, most importantly, how to become a change agent.
Learning in an International, Hands-On Environment
Throughout the program, we work in pairs on projects that help companies become more sustainable. This hands-on experience is incredibly valuable, as it’s not always easy to convince people to embrace sustainability.
So far, I’ve enjoyed every week of this academic year and learned a lot! That’s also thanks to our incredibly fun and international class, with 11 different nationalities bringing a wealth of diverse characters and cultures.
