The funnest start to International Social Work is approaching. The introduction! The introduction for International Social Work starts on August 26th. A fun couple of days when you find out everything about your program, fellow students and HAN. Will you be joining in?

Intro Program International Social Work
The introduction program for the International Social Work course starts on Monday, August 26th, and runs until Friday, August 30th. The activities of the introduction are not mandatory, but they do provide a fantastic start to your study. Will you be there? The overview below gives an idea of the provisional program. Don't want to miss anything and participating in the entire International Social Work intro program? Sign up here for the intro. Once you’ve paid, you're registered.
Not joining the International Social Work intro but still want to attend the free Open Up Festival in Nijmegen or the Open Up Sunrise Festival in Arnhem? No problem! You don't need to register for these. As a new student, you can pick up a 2024 Open Up wristband in the Open Up Area on the HAN campus or at the festival entrance.

Cost
The cost for the entire International Social Work intro program is €125. This covers all activities, lunch, and dinner as described in the program.
Are you only coming to the Open Up Festival or Open Up Sunrise Festival? That’s free for all new HAN students. Pick up your access pass (Open Up wristband 2024) in the Open Up Area or at the festival entrance.

Questions about the Social Work intro? You can contact the International Social Work intro committee at introcommissie.isw@han.nl. During the summer vacation from July 12 to August 18, we are available on a limited basis. Our email is checked twice a week.

Sleeping Arrangements
During the introduction, you will sleep on campus. There will be a bed for you in a communal tent, but make sure to bring your own sleeping gear, such as a pillow and a sleeping bag.

Can't participate in the International Social Work intro after all? Please cancel your participation with International Social Work by emailing introcommissie.isw@han.nl.
OPEN UP AREA
The Open Up Area is your base camp in the Introduction Week. For example, You can go here with questions about your program, or if you cannot find the building or room. It is the meeting place on the HAN campus with a cozy terrace and (live) music.
Make sure to stop by the Open Up Area to pick up your entrance ticket for the Open Up Sunrise Festival on Thursday.
ISA Activities
ISA is a student organization that hosts events for international students, such as workshops and parties. ISA aims to create an inclusive community where students from all nationalities can come together, using their experience and backgrounds to create unique events, and parties and learn new skills in the process, by empowering students to shape their own student experience. ISA also organizes an introduction program for all first-year students. These activities are not mandatory, but they are a lot of fun to attend. Everyone is welcome, you don't have to sign up and there are no costs involved.

How do I get to the HAN campus?
The HAN campus in Arnhem is easily accessible by bike, public transport and car. The campus is within cycling distance of Arnhem city center and you can easily walk to it from Arnhem-Presikhaaf railway station.
General Terms and Conditions
We set some important house rules during the introduction week. For example about medical conditions and safety, but also about alcohol, drugs and smoking. If you participate in the Intro, then you agree with the general terms and conditions that we have drawn up for you.
Don't you want to be photographed?
During the intro, pictures and videos will be made to show everybody how nice our intro is. Do you have objections? Tell the photographer or cameraman on the spot or mail to openupintro@han.nl.
