Mechanical Engineering is starting its introduction on Monday 26 August 2024. It promises to be a week full of fun and information! The introduction program on Thursday 29 August afternoon is mandatory for all new students. You will get information about your study program, your classmates and your university. Welcome to the HAN Campus
It’s about to begin! In the week of August 26, we will welcome you to the HAN Campus. We are looking forward to meeting you in person! On this page, you can find all the information for a great introduction Week in the Mechanical Engineering program and the best possible start of your studies!
Orientation Introduction + camp
The orientation introduction for the School of Engineering and Automotive is a camp from Monday morning to Friday morning. You will all sleep together in a large tent on the school grounds. We provide all facilities, including beds, showers, food, and not to forget all the fun activities!
You will be divided into groups with classmates. This way, you get to know each other well right from the start. We also provide breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, there will be a delicious dinner!

Intro Program for all new international students
In case you are obstructed to join us for the whole week The International School of Business, together with the HAN International Office organizes a introduction in which you can get to know other students. These activities include going to a museum and other fun activities. It is the best way to get to know your fellow students, HAN and Arnhem.

Registration
Intro program On Monday, there is a International Welcome Day that is mandatory for all international students. The introduction program on Wednesday is mandatory for all students.

Costs
Sign up for the introduction camp here! The introduction week without camp is free for all students, unless you join the super fun Open Air Museum trip. Then it costs €5 per person. This includes transport and activity. We recommend everyone to come along to get to know your classmates and make friends! Click here for instructions regarding the HAN webshop.
The introduction camp costs €125. This includes:
- 4 overnight stays,
- 4 breakfasts and lunches,
- 4 dinners.
If you have any questions about this introduction, please contact the chairperson, Jules, at intro.aea@han.nl, even during the summer holidays.
If you cannot participate after registration, you can cancel by sending an email to intro.aea@han.nl. In the general terms and conditions, you can see if you get (part of) the costs back. You can find the cancellation conditions under point 5.
Open Up Sunrise Festival
The entrance ticket for the Open Up Festival is free for all new HAN students. Collect your ticket at the Open Up Area.

Unsubscribe
We expect all students to be there for the introduction in the week of 26 August. Students who start later often cannot catch up and may be hindered since some classes and projects are obligatory. If you can’t start on time, please contact the first year team directly: intro.aea@han.nl.
OPEN UP AREA
The Open Up Area is your base camp in the Introduction Week. For example, You can go here with questions about your program, or if you cannot find the building or room. It is the meeting place on the HAN campus with a cozy terrace and (live) music.
Make sure to stop by the Open Up Area to pick up your entrance ticket for the Open Up Sunrise Festival on Thursday.
International School of Business Community
The ISB community is a place to broaden your horizons. To get the most out of yourself. And to change the world around you. Become a member of the Photography Club or the Debate Team. Play volleyball, soccer and basketball with students from all over the world. Or go to one of the many masterclasses organized by students. Check out the community on Facebook and Instagram. There you'll find upcoming events and trips, stories by students, alumni experiences, travel inspiration and daily updates. Share your ideas and your voice will be heard!
ISA Activities
ISA is a student organization that hosts events for international students, such as workshops and parties. ISA aims to create an inclusive community where students from all nationalities can come together, using their experience and backgrounds to create unique events, and parties and learn new skills in the process, by empowering students to shape their own student experience. ISA also organizes an introduction program for all first-year students. These activities are not mandatory, but they are a lot of fun to attend. Everyone is welcome, you don't have to sign up and there are no costs involved.
