Join the 'Networking Event: Happiness and Stress at Work' during HAN's International Week Health & Social Studies and connect with (international) guest speakers, lecturers, and colleagues from the field. Dr. Kilian Wawoe will give a presentation about happiness and stress in the workplace.
About the lecture
Why are some people happier than others? What causes some individuals to experience more stress? In this lecture on the psychology of happiness and stress, you will discover the key psychological factors that contribute to well-being and emotional resilience. Topics such as the impact of positive emotions, relationships, and purpose on happiness will be discussed. Additionally, the lecture will cover how stress develops and its effects on our mental and physical health. By the end of the session, you will have practical insights and tools to enhance your own happiness and better manage stress in your daily life.
About the speaker
Dr. Kilian Wawoe was a senior HR manager at ABN AMRO in the Netherlands, Belgium, Monaco, and India. During his tenure at the bank, he earned his PhD for research on the relationship between rewards, performance, and job satisfaction. Since 2010, he has been a university lecturer at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and works as a consultant and speaker for international organizations. He is also a guest lecturer in Organizational Psychology at Shevchenko University in Kyiv and has been supporting MAIB Bank in Moldova in measuring and improving employee well-being since 2021.

We will wrap up the event with a drink. This networking event is part of the International Week Health and Social Studies 2025 with the theme ‘Beyond Borders’. During this week international speakers, students and lecturers share experiences and knowledge within the domains of social studies and health.
