1. General
1.1 Each year HAN welcomes around 8,000 new students. For this purpose, we organize the Introduction Week.
1.2 These general terms and conditions apply to the HAN Introduction Week.
1.3 The following definitions are used in these general terms and conditions:
1.3.1 The organization: staff and/or students of HAN charged with organizing the Introduction Week
1.3.2 Mentors: senior students in charge of guiding the participants in the Introduction Week.
1.3.3 Participants: 1st-year students who participate in 1 or more activities that are part of the Introduction Week.
1.4 If you participate in the HAN Introduction Week, you agree to these general terms and conditions.
2. Safety
2.1 Safety is paramount in all activities during the Introduction Week. Instructions from mentors, organization and/or personnel on site should be followed at all times. Each participant is also expected to take the necessary safety precautions. Participation is at your own risk.
2.2 If a participant notices anything that could lead to an unsafe situation, they should notify the mentors and/or the organization.
2.3 Participants with special medical conditions must notify the organization prior to the Introduction Week.
2.4 The organization has an emergency plan and the mentors are familiar with this plan.
2.5 Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the HAN Intro. If it’s a criminal offense, the police will always be notified. Experience something unpleasant? Please report this to the organization.
2.6 The organization is not liable for loss or theft of personal property. We advise you to leave valuables at home.
3. GDPR legislation
3.1 We want to show everyone how much fun the HAN Introduction Week is. We can only do this with your help. So if you participate in the Introduction Week, you automatically give us permission to publish photos and/or videos that feature you on our online and offline media. If you object to this, please notify the photographer or cameraperson on site or via email to openupintro@han.nl.
4. Alcohol, drugs and smoking
4.1 HAN maintains a Zero Tolerance policy on drugs. That means possession and dealing of drugs is not permitted.
4.2 The use of alcohol is subject to the legal rules. This means that if you are under 18, it is illegal to consume or possess alcohol. If you are 18 or older, it is illegal to provide alcohol to minors. You will receive an Open Up wristband from your intro organization. You keep that wristband on for the entire Introduction Week.
- Not yet 18? Then you get a red wristband.
- Are you 18 years or older? Then you get a green wristband.
4.3 Smoking is subject to the legal rules. This means that smoking is not allowed on campus.
5. Cancellation policy 2024
