Pioneering start-up Gravity Gardens receives funding from ESA Business Incubation Centre
Gravity Gardens, an innovative start-up led by Mechanical Engineering student Paulino Valdes, has been admitted to the prestigious European Space Agency (ESA) Business Incubation Centre in Noordwijk. An extraordinary achievement! Why?

ESA wants to stimulate opportunities with space technology, and to that end it makes grants and support available to innovative business ideas that are promising. Gravity Gardens managed to convince ESA and can therefore count on substantial financial and technical support from ESA.

What is Gravity Gardens?
This is an innovative agritech startup founded by our enterprising Mechanical Engineering student Paulino Valdes and his associate Robin Le Vigouroux. They have come up with a groundbreaking solution to accelerate and increase crop yields on Earth in a sustainable way. Using simulated off-planet environments, Gravity Gardens enables vertical growing of crops. This opens the door to freeing up land for sustainable use.

Paulino and Robin signed their contract with ESA this month and are already in the midst of their first Entrepreneurs Coffee session with other startups in the ESA BIC.
We are proud of all the students collaborating on Gravity Gardens with HAN@CONNECTR in Arnhem as an inspiring place to work and we look forward to their successful future!
