International Week Built Environment

The International Week Built Environment (Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program) will take place from May 18 to 24, 2025! Together with our partners we provide workshops and lectures on topics related to the built environment, supplemented with social events. Meet and collaborate with students from other countries who study the same as you.

Are you a student or lecturer in the field of Built Environment? Come to our annual International Week Built Environment! We will welcome you to our School of Built Environment in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Our school and programs endorse the UN Sustainable Development Goals, therefore the International Week program will include many topics related to sustainability. There are many interesting lectures and workshops at our university, but there are also excursions.

If you would like to add an extra day to discover the highlights of the Netherlands, join us on an excursion on the Saturday after the International Week (May 24). This tour ends in Amsterdam.

Register before April 25, 2025!

Are you studying Architecture Engineering and Design or Civil Engineering and would you like to meet fellow students from other countries? Would you like to join them in interesting lectures, workshops, excursions and social events? Then register before April 25, 2025 for the International Week Built Environment. We'll see you soon at the HAN in Arnhem!

The costs for participation are € 250. There is no participation fee for HAN Partners. 
If you also want to participate in the excursion on Saturday, an additional € 150 will be added.

Monday, May 19

Frank Spuij, dean of the School of Built Environment, opens the International Week Built Environment 2025. After the lunch we have a very interesting lecture about Smart Grids. We take you for a walking tour around the campus and close this first day with 'A taste of the world' at our campus Café Lokaal '99.

Tuesday, May 20

Today we start with a fieldtrip by bike "Sustainable Housing" at Liander. After lunch we continue with a workshop about a railroad underpass. We end this exciting day internationally with international students and snacks at the Be Gobal Café.

Wednesday, May 21

Humpday has it all: from lectures and a keynotespeaker to a presentation and a city escape. And have you ever tried to speak Dutch? It's tough to learn, but take a change in only 45 minutes! Maybe you can order your dinner or drinks in Dutch when we close the day in the city centre of Arnhem.

Thursday, May 22

We leave Arnhem early today to visit the Oosterscheldekering in the southwest of the Netherlands.This is the largest of the Delta Works, a series of dams and storm surge barriers, designed to protect the Netherlands.

Friday, May 23

On this final day we start with a workshop. After lunchtime we cycle to the Open Air Museum in Arnhem where we spend the afternoon and where we will officially close the International Week.

Saturday, May 24

If you extend your stay with one day, you can join us on the excursion "Windmills, cheese and canals". We show you some highlights of the Netherlands. You can apply for this excursion on the registration form. More information will follow during the week.

Exchange Courses and Internships

HAN University of Applied Sciences offers loads of professional programs in a wide range of fields. Students can choose from 63 bachelor programs, 19 master programs and numerous exchange programs. All of which combine a solid theoretical basis with practical application in the field. So they’re well positioned to enter the job market as soon as they graduate.
